This effort aims to offer a wide range of sustainable products in the assortment, thereby contributing to reducing environmental impact and, in the long term, to a healthier planet. The environmental impact of a product is partly determined by the choice of materials. Some materials have a lower environmental impact because they do not require as many chemicals, energy, and water access as others.

Solid Wood Furniture

The most ubiquitous and natural raw material in everyone’s surroundings. Its popularity stems mainly from its availability and uniqueness, as well as the relative renewability of its resources. What are we talking about?Wood!Wood is a material whose process is incredibly fascinating and during which little miracles happen. It’s one of the most popular materials used by the best Polish brands to create their products. It’s no wonder that wood is the primary material used in furniture production. Therefore, we have gathered the most important and interesting information from the world of nature, industry, and design to create a comprehensive compendium of knowledge about wood for you, all in one place.

Furniture made of solid wood or veneered surfaces belongs to the undisputed classics. We value wood for its nobility, naturalness, durability, and diversity. These are also the features that demand special attention. Each type of wood has unique characteristics. If you have chosen oak wood, the wood grain will undoubtedly be distinct and characteristic.Ash has a highly varied grain – lighter shades intermingle with brown ones. In the case of walnut, the coloring can also be varied. We believe its greatest asset is the unusual and unique grain pattern, which is both distinct and irregular.Regardless of which type of wood you choose, it will certainly have natural features that should not be perceived as flaws. Each centimeter is unique, with natural variations in shade, visible medullary rays, and other anatomical features such as small darker stains, known as false heartwood, natural voids, cracks, shine, and knots. These knots can take many forms, so if you have chosen a piece of furniture with a rustic character, there is a chance that through-knots, the most special type, will appear.Elements subjected to staining and varnishing may vary in shades. All these features attest to the authenticity of the wood and its exceptional character – they are not grounds for complaints. Differences in shades between the actual furniture and its samples are also permissible. This is partly due to the incomparably smaller size of the samples.

“NATURAL WOOD IS UNIQUE!”

COLOR AND GRAIN

The beauty of natural wood, such as oak or walnut, lies in its distinctive grain pattern, characteristic of each species, as well as its unique shades and varied grain. Depending on the conditions in which the tree grew, the wood obtained from it has unique features.

Remember that this material can be non-uniform, with natural discolorations, spots, unique grain curves, or knots. Even the highest quality material can vary; each batch is different – “nothing happens twice.” This is a characteristic feature and undeniable charm of wood, which, among other things, due to its uniqueness, differs from its plastic imitations.

It is essential to remember that the shade of such products changes naturally over time under the influence of factors such as light and humidity.

Care for Solid Wood Furniture

Choosing Lacquered or Oiled/Waxed Finish Furniture

When opting for furniture with a lacquered surface, you can effectively skip the oiling process. Lacquer provides a durable finish, but it requires care similar to oiled furniture. Both lacquer and oil/wax finishes are susceptible to scratches and heat from hot dishes. Following a few simple rules ensures your furniture remains beautiful for years to come.

Enjoying wooden furniture also requires maintaining proper indoor conditions. Most importantly, the humidity level should be between 45% and 60%. It’s crucial to avoid placing furniture near heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, or stoves. Natural wood contracts in dry conditions and expands in moist environments.

Aging is a natural process for wood, leading to changes in color over time. To delay this process, minimize exposure to sunlight. These characteristics and recommendations apply to solid wood and furniture using natural veneers.
